Adjust today based on yesterday
The Hexis app starts your fueling plan each day at energy balance (zero) and does not take into account any energy deficit (or surplus) from the day before. However, it's not uncommon for athletes to end a day with an unplanned energy deficit.
Our best advice is to avoid this scenario whenever possible, but when it does happen, the simple answer is to eat more the next day. Follow your appetite through the course of the day, focusing on healthy, nutrient-dense foods with lots of complex carbs, fruits, veggies, protein, and healthy fats. Log your meals in the app and use the Live Energy graph to stay close to energy balance.
You will end up with a calorie surplus for the day, but overall you will still probably be in a calorie deficit over a few days.
