My cycling obsession began in 2006 when I bought my first road bike after recovering from a running injury. I loved the bike right away and immediately started training and participating in local road races. A few years later, I tried racing cyclocross, and that became my passion every fall. I logged 125 CX races over the next 12 years! Eventually I also began participating in gravel races and events, and in 2019 (after much urging from friends) I started riding mountain bikes, too.

I currently ride and race numerous cycling disciplines as a masters athlete (road, gravel, cyclocross, mountain bike), balancing training and racing with family and work. I have multiple podiums in cyclocross, including six New Hampshire State Cyclocross Championship podiums (two gold, two silver, two bronze) and several mountain bike wins, as well.

I am a USA Cycling Level 3 and Power-Certified coach. Off the bike I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children (and dog and cat). I am also an avid New England sports fan and spend probably too much time watching and following Boston sports (Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics). I am also a financial services professional and run my own practice out of the Commonwealth Financial Group office in Bedford, New Hampshire.

Athlete Testimonials

Paul is a great coach for me. He definitely provides me with all of the great physiological stimulus guidance that I need to perform at my best with great attention to the right periodization of training with appropriate base-build-peak-taper taper phases of training. He has excellent command of what I am capable of despite my advanced age as I tend to recover and respond to shorter periods of rest, I think, a bit better than many folks my age. He has helped me to reach my goal of reaching the podium in my age group in a massive second tier-type amateur gravel race. In other road and gravel races this year I even hung surprisingly tough in a couple races that included more elite riders in my age group.  - Bruce B.

Paul is a great coach and friend. I benefit from his thoughtful prescription of training to match the dynamics of daily life and upcoming events.  - Ken M.

Paul helps to keep me focused and motivated; which I am especially grateful for coming right out of BaseCamp. He is good at seeing the big picture and explaining to me what was important from post workout analysis, where sometimes I don't recognize the key takeaways from the workout. I'm excited about working with him for the long term, and I greatly value his guidance and support. - Bill S.
