BASECAMP COACH
Menachem Brodie
Your training should fit your body, your riding, your goals, and your life, not the other way around. Menachem looks beyond watts, sets, and reps to understand how you move, recover, ride, and respond to training, then builds and adapts your program around you.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY
MY APPROACH TO COACHING.
I don't believe your best years have to be behind you just because you're in your 40s, 50s, or beyond. I believe you can get fitter, faster, and stronger, and look and feel better, year after year. But you can’t train like you did at 25 and expect better results at 50.
You have a career, a family, responsibilities, travel, imperfect sleep, and stress. Training has to fit that life, not fight against it. My job isn’t to give you more work, but to find the right work at the right time so you keep moving forward without running yourself into the ground.
That’s why I intertwine strength and cycling training. Strength builds muscle, movement, and resilience; cycling turns that foundation into fitness, speed, and better performances on the bike.
And we play the long game. I plan in four-year cycles, because long-term thinking creates better short-term decisions. Instead of chasing the next hard workout, we build year upon year, with the goal of having you look better, feel better, and ride stronger at 50 than you did at 28.
I use data, but I coach the person behind it. The goal isn’t to see how much training you can survive. It’s to discover how good you can become when every piece of your training has a purpose.
THE FULL STORY
ABOUT ME AS A COACH.
Most cyclists know strength training can make them stronger. But stronger in the gym doesn’t automatically mean better on the bike. Knowing how to bridge that gap is what Menachem Brodie, NSCA-CSCS, has spent nearly two decades studying, coaching, and teaching.
With 25+ years in performance and fitness, Menachem has coached a Silver Medal Olympian (Cycling), European Championship Gold and Silver Medalists (Triathlon), UCI Track World Championship riders, and hundreds of cyclists over 40 to countless podiums and personal bests in road, gravel, cyclocross, triathlon, and mountain biking events.
A three-time international bestselling author, including Strength Training for Cycling Performance, he has also lectured and presented internationally to leading sports performance researchers, top coaching companies, and fitness and wellness technology companies.
Menachem teaches coaches and self-coached riders what really matters: what to train, why, when to progress, and how to fit strength alongside riding.
Because the goal isn’t simply getting stronger. It’s knowing how to build strength that makes you or the athletes you coach better cyclists.
