With over 25 years of competitive racing and recreational cycling experience, I bring a lifetime of elite-level insight to my coaching practice, now in its second year. Through my engineering background and skills, I can offer my athletes a highly analytical, data-driven approach to performance.
My journey in sports began at the age of five, when I started playing hockey, a passion that carried me through college and shaped my understanding of teamwork, dedication, and hard work. This experience is the foundation for all my professional and athletic achievements.
I specialize in helping my athletes navigate the real-world challenges of training; I'm a father of three athletic daughters, and I've personally balanced for decades a demanding career, high-level cycling, and family life. I am proficient at designing efficient, intelligent training protocols that maximize limited time without sacrificing results.
These are my core philosophies and expertise:
Precision training: Utilizing power meter data and analytical modeling to ensure every interval serves a specific physiological purpose
Sustainability: Designing dynamic plans that adapt to life events, illness, and fatigue to maintain long-term athlete health
Holistic growth: Helping cyclists of all levels achieve and exceed their personal benchmarks
My coaching is more than just a training plan; it is a synthesis of decades on the bike and a career spent solving complex problems, now fully devoted to elevating the next generation of cyclists.
Key events I've participated in:
Four years of BaseCamp winter group coaching and one-on-one coaching
Road events: WAM 300 (10+ years), One Helluva Ride, Spring Tour of St. George
Mountain events: IceMan, Ore2Shore
Gravel event: BWR San Diego, Waterloo G&G, Cow Pie, Fast Fitty, Barry Roubaix Psycho Killer; AAVC Organized Gravel Centuries: BLOM, Pleasant Lake Ride, Winnewana
